After Lorde released her 2021 album “Solar Power,” many fans are afraid that it would take a while for the New Zealand pop star to drop new music again in the future. However, based on recent updates, it appears that the singer is already working on her next project; when is it coming out?
The “Secrets of a Girl” songstress spoke to Ensemble Magazine to tease fans about her upcoming songs as well as giving an explanation why it took her a long time working on new music, saying she “do a lot of research” and writes a lot down.
Although the pop star didn’t give more background regarding the tracklist, inspirations, and sound of her yet-to-be-titled record, Lorde said she still has a lot of work to do before she starts writing new music, but she’s excited about what ‘s coming.
Many fans are curious to know when the album is coming out and even though the pop star, who rose to fame with her smash debut song “Royals,” didn’t reveal the official release date, it seems like the next project will not take another four years.
She further explained that it’s always her intention to “move as quickly” as possible, but there are times that it ends up “taking different forms.” However, she’s making an exception for the next record, saying, “But this one, I really am trying to. I don’t want to wait, you know, so take from that what you will.” (via Billboard)

Lorde New Album: Not The First Time Pop Star Teased Fans About Upcoming Music
Lorde took a different route with “Solar Power” as many fans didn’t expect how it sounded different from her previous releases like “Pure Heroine” and “Melodrama.”
However, it appears that the musician is making a comeback as she teased her fans when she performed at the Roundhouse London last year.
During the show, the 26-year-old artist said “big, bright pop song” defined her life when she was growing up and she felt addicted to listening to pop bangers because of its feeling.
“I just wanted to keep trying to construct the perfect thing that would hit you in the heart emotionally, over three-and-a-half minutes,” she added. (via NME)
Lorde, whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, concluded her speech by teasing concertgoers, saying she’s close to writing “banger” music again that would make her supporters dance and feel its emotions.
