Fans will no longer see Ozzy Osbourne perform live on stage because he announced he was retiring from touring.
In addition, the 74-year-old rock singer canceled all of his future performances as he recovers from spinal surgery.
The wife of Sharon Osbourne has been dealing with a number of health issues recently and was just diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease four years ago.
The original plan for Ozzy’s 2019 European tour was for him to begin it in May. However, after being postponed three times, it has now been formally canceled, along with further dates in the future.
The main singer of Black Sabbath played his final tour performance on December 18 at Ozzfest in Inglewood as a part of the farewell tour, “No More Tours II.”
On Wednesday, Ozzy apologized for “disappointing” his millions of followers on Instagram and admitted that he never would have thought his touring days would end “this way.”
The father of three acknowledged that, seven months after the spinal surgery that prevented paralysis and in the midst of his continuous Parkinson’s disease struggle, he was still dealing with health issues.
The rock star further told his fans, “My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage. My singing voice is fine. “
“However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak.”
According to reports, all tickets will be returned.
Ozzy Osbourne stated that following his first and last spinal operation in 2019, he may be permanently crippled. He experienced a terrible fall months after receiving his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis the same year, which made his neck damage from his quad bike accident in 2003 worse.
Even the nerve damage from his quad bike accident, when he cracked eight ribs and a neck vertebra, was brought on by the injuries.
