Country singer Shania Twain opened up about the drag queens’ impact on her life.
Twain, who previously served as a guest judge on “RuPaul’s Drag Race!,” spoke candidly about drag queens as she showed her support to the LGBTQ+ community in a new interview.
Speaking with GLAAD, the 57-year-old “You’re Still The One” hitmaker confessed her love for drag queens as she continues to admire them. She noted that drag shows are fan and that she had been to a couple of shows in Las Vegas.
Twain then said that being a drag queen takes a lot of courage, explaining how they inspire her.
“The ability to put their own makeup on and do such a beautiful job,” she said. “I’ve learned a lot from drag queens. I watched their tutorials because no, I’ve never seen such transformation in some of these talents that their faces go through… It’s very impressive and their fashion, I don’t know, I’m very inspired by it.”
The singer concluded her statement in the interview by declaring that people need drag queens to share their talent with the public and become people’s inspiration.
Shania Twain Offers Full Support to the Community
Before her recent interview, the “From This Moment On” hitmaker joined “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 10 in 2018. At that time, she and contestants Mayhem Miller and Monét X Change performed her hit song, “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.”
It was not the first time she spoke about her love for drag queens.
In her 2011 memoir “From This Moment On,” Twain revealed that the hit song, which was part of her 1997 album “Come On Over,” was inspired by drag queens she saw in the gay bars.

According to the singer, gay bars have the best dance music where the most impressive dressers gather. She went on to praise people she saw in the bars who reportedly looked gorgeous as they showed their artistic sides.
“Being inexperienced at applying makeup, I marveled at how artistic and glamorous some of the men were,” she continued. “They looked so gorgeous, with features that had been defined and exaggerated with blushes, liners, shadows and accessories.”
With that, she eventually wrote “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.”
Twain, on the other hand, also serves as an inspiration to her fans. She recently released her new album, “Queen of Me.” She will also start her tour in April.
