Vanilla Ice claims he turned down Madonna’s marriage proposal in the 1990s, partially because he was too young, but also because she included him in her notorious “Sex” book.
The “Ice Ice Baby” rapper described the scene on the “Just Jenny with Jenny Hutt” podcast, recalling a spate of sold-out concerts when Madonna was in the audience jamming to songs from his 15x platinum debut album. Even after Madonna came backstage and gave him “the seductive eyes” in his dressing room, Ice found it difficult to believe that she thought he was attractive.
As reported by TMZ, when the late Charles Koppelman organized a formal date for them, Ice claims that things became “freaky,” and they embarked on a whirlwind affair in which they wore masks and pretended to be elderly to avoid being identified.

Ice compared the relationship to being inside a shook-up snow globe and said that he felt strange when she proposed to him, as he was hitting his peak. Madge’s unauthorized inclusion of sensual images of them in her then-shocking 1992 graphic novel “Sex” was the final straw.
Big Daddy Kane and Naomi Campbell also appeared in the book, but Ice told Madonna it was “slutty” and even considered filing a lawsuit, but he eventually ended the relationship by hanging up on her whenever she called.
He still considers Madge a “legend,” but it does not appear like Ice regrets his “I do not” decision.
Madonna has not yet responded to this offensive portrayal of her; nevertheless, she may be too preoccupied with taking her career into greater heights these days.
In fact, when Madonna embarks on her career-spanning “Celebration Tour” later this year, she will be doing a worldwide victory lap, further establishing her reputation as the Queen of Pop. Billboard estimates that she will receive upwards of $100 million in earnings.
The concerts will highlight Madonna’s greatest songs from her four-decade career, a rare unambiguous objective for one of the most enigmatic performers in the world. With 38 top 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and 23 top 10 albums on the Billboard 200, the tour has the potential to maintain her reign as the highest-grossing female solo artist in Billboard Boxscore history.
